"Carolyn has helped not only at HoE rides for over 12 years but also at Hanslope, Foremark and rides in Wales. Most work though has not been done on ride days but in the setting up of rides - route clearance, marking, proof checking, envelope stuffing and all the tasks that go on before and after rides. Without her help I don't know how ride info would have been produced on time and for 2019 the Inter Regionals would certainly have suffered." - Steve Bates

2019 TROPHY NEWS

Dear All

Another ride season has come and gone and hopefully you have all had an enjoyable and a successful year.

If you are a current Trophy holder please don’t forget to get it engraved before returning it to:

BEFORE THE 31st DECEMBER.


Group distance awards are for horses (not riders) for kilometres successfully completed in all types of EGB competitive rides. They are awarded for 80 km, 160 km, 400 km and thereafter in increments of 400 km. There is no time limit to achieve an award and distances can be counted from the beginning of 2002. If you would like to claim fill in the application form and send it with a photocopy (NOT the original) of your horse’s Log Book Mastercard. If you are claiming a Pleasure Ride distance award (these are also cumulative with distances as the competitive rides) please send a copy of your Pleasure Ride card.


The pleasure ride Trophy is awarded annually to the horse and rider with the most kms for the season – copy of pleasure ride card please if you would like to try for the Trophy. There is also a Pleasure Ride Trophy (presented by Janet Fentiman) awarded to the Heart of England Associate Member (non EGB member) with most kms in pleasure rides.

The Team Shield will be awarded to horse and rider combinations to have successfully completed 5 or more rides during the season – and don’t forget to give your team a NAME.

Teams consisting of:

1 horse and rider competing up to and including 50 km
1 horse and rider competing up to and including 80 km
1 horse and rider competing any distance


We also have the William Bonnie Award presented by Steve Bates and awarded to horses and ponies that have competed in twenty consecutive graded endurance or competitive endurance rides and achieved a minimum of a completion in each of those twenty rides. To qualify for the award the 20th ride must have been in the qualifying season. To claim for this award please enclose a copy of the mastercard with each horse’s name and log book number.


In addition to these awards we also have the Helen Farrall Memorial trophy - awarded to an unsung hero nominated by a Heart of England group member. This is a really special award so please consider using this opportunity to says thanks to the unsung heroes that form an important part of your endurance team.

The Heart of England Group is pleased to announce the following 3 C's Challenge Awards for the following horse and rider combinations:

 

Bronze Awards:

The 3 C's Challenge was a new award programme for 2017 and based upon the Heart of England Group's 3 traditional rides; Cannock Chase, Clent Hills and Cirencester.
Awards are presented for total distance covered across the three rides for the same horse and rider combinations as follows:
Bronze Award - A total of 80km (PR & GER distance allowed)
Silver Award - A total of 160km (GER & CER distance only)
Gold Award - A total of 200km (GER & CER distance only)
Platinum Award - As per Gold Award but with completion of the 100km CER at Cirencester Park

We shall run the awards again for the 2018 season and welcome you all to our Group rides and the Challenge.

Inter Regional Competition 2017

As you will hopefully know by now the Heart of England Group are hosting the Inter Regional Competition at the Cirencester Park ride this year. As it's our home event it would be fantastic if we can go with a full team.

If you would like to be a part of the team, please apply in writing to either Helen Blair or Kim Roulston-Bates with details on your goals for the coming season and beyond, information on your horse/s and a reason why you would like to represent Heart Of England.

We are hoping to put forward a full HofE team this year, we want all levels and experiences to come together and make Cirencester an Inter Regional Championships to remember.

TROPHY NEWS:
We have two exciting new Awards for Group Members this year which you may wish to have in your minds as you continue your season. The first is the 20/20 Award presented by Steve Bates to horses/ponies completing 20 consecutive rides (GERs or CERs) with a minimum Completion (20 consecutive passes on your MasterCards). To qualify the 20th ride must be in the current season of the Awards. The second new Trophy is the Chevin Wardour Trophy presented by Victoria Smith for horses/ponies at any level gaining the most points in GERs up to 55km in distance.

Due to the importance of volunteers within the organisation and the dependency upon them to run rides and events we have decided that starting from this year IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR A HEART OF ENGLAND GROUP AWARD THE CLAIMANT (OR NOMINATED FAMILY OR CREW MEMBER OF THE CLAIMANT) MUST HAVE VOLUNTEERED AT AN EGB EVENT. We have extended this to all EGB events but evidence must be submitted with the annual trophy applications.

The Inter-regionals championships are due to take place at the TOP SPEC LINDUM SPIRIT on the 4TH/5TH 6TH AUGUST 2016.

NEW NATIONAL TROPHIES FOR 2015

The Pleasure Pairs Trophy has been introduced this year (the Pleasure Ride Trophy is having a year off) This is open to associate members and full members of EGB. Horse and rider must be registered by emailing the EGB office. All national pleasure rides of up to 36km are eligible and both the horses must complete the ride successfully at a speed of 8kph to 12kph.

There is also a new Team of three trophy for full members of EGB. Open to teams of 3 horse/ rider combinations, teams must be registered by the 1st May. One horse to be limited to distances under 45k, the other two horses to be limited to distances under 66k (single day) or 85k (multiday). Best 5 results to count

CLUB MEMBERSHIP FOR RIDING CLUB AND PONY CLUB MEMBERS

Riding Club and Pony Club members can now register as CLUB riders and then they can enter national rides online all year.

You will need to have a PayPal account to use this facility and due to the admin charges entries will incur an additional 1 pound charge - however this does offset the cost of a stamp and envelope so we hope it does offer a good service for you.

  4. Amount (see online entry fee for event), select Continue
